Bridgetower Duo

Lukas Vanbeckevoort (b. 2002, Hasselt) is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the CNSMD de Lyon, where he studies in the class of Marc Danel. Lukas began playing the violin at the age of six. He studied with Lei Wang, concertmaster of Philharmonie Zuidnederland and professor at LUCA School of Arts. From an early age, he developed a deep passion for chamber music, performing regularly with his sister, father, and mother as a member of Ensemble NoiQuattro. He continued to cultivate this passion at the Young Conservatory of Antwerp, where he received specialised training in chamber music. He also took part in several international music academies, including the International Academy of Cervo and the Arosa Music Academy. He went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree at LUCA School of Arts before studying for two years with Marc Danel at IMEP Namur. Alongside his formal studies, Lukas has further refined his artistry through masterclasses with Ning Kam, Stephan Picard, Ingolf Turban, Alexis Galperine, Liya Petrova and several other internationally renowned violinists and pedagogues. He was awarded First Prize at the Cobra’s Classic Battle in 2015 and Second Prize at the Breughel Music Competition in 2016. More recently, he was a finalist at the Musica Goritiensis International Competition in 2024 and received Second Prize at the Music Academy Forte Competition in 2025. Lukas performs on a 1720 David Tecchler violin made in Rome.

Passionate about chamber music, French pianist Romain Jansen enjoys exploring a wide range of repertoire, with a particular affinity for Russian Romantic music. Among his recent highlights, he performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor with the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire. In 2025, he had the opportunity to perform Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Pasadena Community Orchestra, the Redlands Bowl Festival Orchestra in Los Angeles, and the London City Philharmonic. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Piano at the CNSMD de Lyon (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon), Romain is actively involved in a variety of chamber music projects. He is the founder of the Astrakuma Quartet and also performs with the Duo Reflets (two pianos), Duo’Nysos (cello and piano), and the Bridgetower Duo (violin and piano). During the final year of his Bachelor’s degree, Romain chose to study abroad, spending the autumn semester at the Royal College of Music in London and the spring semester at the Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles. In 2025, Romain was awarded First Prize at the Pasadena Community Orchestra Young Artist Competition in Los Angeles and Second Prize at the Redlands Bowl Young Artist Competition. He was also a finalist in the Île-de-France Piano Competition and the Artepiano Competition in Italy (2024). Romain began his musical studies at the Conservatoire of Montpellier at the age of eleven, where he studied with Maxime Hochart and Dominique Bouët, graduating in 2021. After a preparatory year, he was admitted to the CNSMD de Lyon, where he has studied with Laurent Cabasso and Hélène Bouchez since 2022. He has had the opportunity to work with many distinguished pianists and teachers through masterclasses, including Philippe Cassard, Anne Queffélec, Denis Pascal, Emmanuel Strosser, Claire Désert, and Vittorio Forte. More recently, he has worked with Cédric Tiberghien, Rena Shereshevskaia, Yuri Shadrin, and Valentina Igoshina. Romain is also a regular guest at music festivals throughout France. In 2025, he gave the opening concert of the Musique à Vars Festival. He has also appeared at the Un Piano sous les Arbres Festival in Lunel-Viel, where he performed Rachmaninoff’s Cello Sonata, Op. 19 in 2023, followed by a solo recital in 2024 featuring works by Beethoven, Schubert, and Liszt. He has also performed as part of the Les Romanesques Festival.
